Onsite Training Policies
Seat Availability for Onsite Events
The number of seats for our open-enrollment workshops and our application-based trainings is limited by the physical training space that is reserved for the event. Please complete your registration or submit your application at your earliest convenience, as we will not guarantee a seat for you until we have received your registration or tuition payment.
Refund Policy for Onsite Events
Registration fees for non-application-based workshop trainings, minus a $50 service charge, will be refunded to participants who send a written cancellation postmarked or emailed at least 15 days before the training. If the participant purchased the DBT At a Glance DVD in the same transaction, Behavioral Tech will retain $15. No refunds will be made thereafter. A colleague may be substituted for no extra charge if Behavioral Tech, LLC is notified at least two business days before the training. For application-based trainings, please refer to the cancellation policy listed in the training description.
We cannot retroactively issue a refund for unused promotional codes. Refunds will not be granted for orders that did not include a valid promotional code at the time of payment.
Limits of Liability
Behavioral Tech is not responsible for any presenters' or participants' statements, acts, materials, or omissions. The use of audio or video recording devices is not permitted at any activity. Trainers and content are subject to change without notice in the event of circumstances beyond our control.
Product Return Policy*
You may return any product within 30 days of delivery, if the product is in the original packaging and in the same condition as sold. All items returned must be accompanied by a customer return number. To obtain a customer return number please contact our Customer Service Department.
*The product return policy does not apply to online videos. Online video sales are final.
Online Training Return Policy
If you are dissatisfied with your online training course or purchased the course by mistake, you may return the online training course or course key within 30 days of purchase if you have completed less than ten percent of the learning component(s) of the course. Behavioral Tech will refund the online training registration fee, minus a $20 administration fee. The online training course or course key will be removed from your account when your refund is processed.
If the registration fee included books or digital media (Mastery of Anxiety and Panic for Adolescents includes the manual), the product must be returned according to the policy governing that product. Otherwise the cost of that product will be deducted from the refund.
Online Training Exchange Policy
You may exchange an online training course or course key for another course that BTECH offers if you have completed less than ten percent of the learning component(s) of the course. Behavioral Tech will apply the funds from your original purchase towards another course, plus a $20 administrative fee. The original online training course will be removed from your account when your refund is processed, and the new course will be added. Please note, any progress made on the original course will be lost, and we cannot offer partial CE hours for work completed. Exchanges must be limited to one transaction — credits for future purchases will not be available.
Returned Check Policy
For any returned check, the customer will be contacted via e-mail or telephone and made aware of the situation. At the time of notification, the individual/agency will be given an opportunity, and payment options, to pay the amount in full including return check fees ($35.00 per returned check). Returned checks remaining unredeemed after 60 days may be forwarded to a collection agency with the customer bearing the additional collection cost.
Grievance Procedures for CE Activities
Should a participant in any BTECH CE/CME event (to include online training and distance education) be unsatisfied with the product, the participant should immediately contact the onsite or assigned BTECH employee to register a complaint, which the employee will attempt to resolve. If required, the BTECH employee will refer the matter to their manager. If the issue cannot be resolved at this level, it will be brought to the attention of a member of the BTECH Executive Team. BTECH aspires to respond to all concerns within 5 business days.
During the initial contact the Executive Staff Member will assess the problem from the standpoint of the participant. Every effort will be made to resolve the issue by offering a refund or an exchange of product, within the published guidelines for refunds and substitutions.
If there is a death in the participant’s family/office and the participant cannot send a substitute or cannot take an exchange to another workshop or product, a refund will be made. If the participant becomes gravely ill or dies, and the family makes a written request for a refund, it will be made promptly.
What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you register online for workshops or other training events, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card billing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This allows us to process your registration and notify you that your registration was successfully completed. If you are not comfortable transmitting any of this information via the Internet, please feel to contact us at 206.675.8588 to provide the information over the telephone.
When you order any products from our store, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card billing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status. Again, this information may be provided by telephone at the number listed above.
We monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of Site.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Site or to send you other information we think you'll find helpful. However, we will only do this if you have opted-in to receiving those mailings. Also, if at any time you decide you no longer wish to receive them, you can always opt-out by clicing "unsubscribe" within the email or by emailing us at email@example.com.
What about "cookies"?
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while using the Site. BTECH uses a persistent cookie for the Site. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
Will BTECH disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
When you participate in any of our seminars or training events, we may provide your name and contact information to therapists, consumers, family members and/or non-profit mental health advocacy groups so that they may contact you regarding your services. Other than as specifically provided herein, BTECH does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. BTECH may provide aggregate statistics about our visitors, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.
BTECH may release personally identifiable information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements or (iii) protect the rights, property or safety of BTECH, our users, or others.
In the event that BTECH goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ information, in most instances, be a part of the assets transferred. Such a transfer shall not be considered a violation of or deviation from this Policy.
How does BTECH protect customer information?
When you place orders or register for workshops, we offer the use of a secure server. The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us.
How does BTECH allow visitors to update or change the information it collects?
You may update or change information related to your BTECH account by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If at any time you would like us to remove you from our email or postal mailing lists, feel free to contact us via email. Please be sure to include your email address, full name and password.
How does BTECH protect children’s privacy?
We are concerned about the safety of children when they use the Internet. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
If we become aware that an account holder is under the age of 13, we will remove his or her personally identifiable information from our files.
NOTE TO CHILDREN UNDER 13: You are not eligible to use the services or purchase products on this site. Please do not provide us with any information about yourself.
What about links to other web sites and services?
The Site may contain links to other sites that are not under our control. These web sites have their own policies regarding privacy, which you should review before visiting them. We have no responsibility for linked web sites and provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors.
