Jennifer Waltz, Ph.D. is a professor of psychology at the University of Montana and the Director of Clinical Training for the graduate program in clinical psychology. She trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under the supervision of the developer of the treatment, Dr. Marsha Linehan, from 1987-1992. As a senior trainer, she conducts training and supervision in DBT throughout the U.S. Dr. Waltz has published a number of articles and book chapters on DBT. She was Principal Investigator on an NIMH-funded project designed to develop videotapes of DBT skills training. Other areas of research are in trauma, emotions, and family violence. She resides in Missoula, where she also teaches, supervises a DBT team, and maintains a private practice.
