Marketing Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

A significant portion of your daily work will be driven by the marketing content calendar. You will create digital and print materials and ensure that they are delivered on time. You will also track the impact of completed efforts. (70%)

  • Advertising: Draft and schedule keyword search ads and display-marketing campaigns through online distribution networks; track impact, clicks, and conversion rates of online advertising
  • Email campaigns: Use MailChimp to prepare and schedule email campaigns; maintain customer contact lists; track open and click-through rates
  • Printed materials: Create and update event flyers, company brochures, product order forms, postcard mailings, and other printed marketing materials; oversee production of print materials either in-house or with a printing vendor; track usage of promo codes to measure effectiveness of mailings and advertisements
  • Social media: Maintain the Behavioral Tech and Linehan Institute social media channels; post articles and value-added content; monitor incoming customer questions and work with customer service and content experts to respond appropriately; track monthly performance
  • Website content: Use WordPress to maintain the content on the Linehan Institute / Behavioral Tech website; set up discount codes in support of promotional campaigns; track website metrics (monthly sessions, conversion rate, etc) through Google Analytics; gather customer testimonials and DBT success stories to share on the site
  • Conferences: manage Behavioral Tech’s involvement in industry conferences
  • Other tasks as needed

The remaining portion of your job will consist of improving and expanding the marketing efforts of the company. (30%)

  • Branding and positioning: promote the value of what Behavioral Tech offers; effectively communicate the company’s competitive advantage; work with staff to ensure consistency in branding (through email signatures, letterhead templates, clear guidelines, etc)
  • Market research: understand the needs of prospective and pending clients; conduct research on customers’ experience; review and improve existing tools for collecting customer data; research competitors’ offerings; identify gaps in current offerings
  • Special projects and initiatives: identify specific projects or initiatives beyond the status quo that would improve our reach and impact (website improvement projects, create new flyers or brochures to support the sales team, etc); recommend promotional and communication strategies to increase revenue (new locations for paid advertising, etc)

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who has an eye for design (we don’t expect you to be a Designer, but you will be creating emails and flyers) and is willing to help with day-to-day materials production tasks.

We are seeking a candidate who understands marketing principles and best practices. The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically and creatively and make confident recommendations that will move us further toward our goals.

Finally, we are looking for someone who desires to grow with our company. You will work closely with our executive team in this role – these leaders will support you as you develop new or enhanced skills. We hope you would bring a unique set of perspectives and recommendations to our team and will help us grow our marketing department in the years to come.

Skills & Experience


  • A./B.S. degree in marketing or communications; consideration will be given for equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in writing, proofing, and editing content
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative informaiton (website analytics, social media analytics, customer survey results, product sales), make conclusions, and put together recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members


  • Experience managing a company’s website
  • Experience managing corporate social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Linked In)
  • Experience with budgeting (preparing a budget request; tracking and reporting on department expenditures)

  • Marketing experience in the health industry
  • Familiarity with the specific software platforms that we use at Behavioral Tech:
    • WordPress websites
    • MailChimp
    • Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator)
    • Survey Monkey
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge (helpful in manipulating WordPress pages and MailChimp email designs)
