Hélène Poitras, OTR and licensed psychotherapist by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. Hélène has been a clinician for more than 30 years at the outpatient psychiatric clinic at the CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal focusing her clinical work on the borderline personality disorder population. Ms. Poitras has been practicing DBT since 2003 and has completed numerous DBT trainings since 2007. The development of her DBT expertise has been refined with Marsha M. Linehan, founder of this therapy, and other DBT expert trainers in the United States. She is currently a trainer for Behavioral Tech.
Ms. Poitras regularly offers lectures, conferences and trainings in DBT in various settings and congresses. She is a consultant and supervisor for many teams, therapists and students in Quebec. Moreover, she participated as a member-expert and trainer in research projects in DBT in Quebec and has cowritten articles on the subject.
Her passion in DBT has brought Ms. Poitras to found TCD Québec to support the development, implementation and dissemination of DBT particularly in the French-speaking world. She assured the translation of the material and she is offering training, supervision, consultations and mentoring to teams and therapists.
