Marcus is a MA candidate at Duke University and an intern at the McLean Hospital / Harvard Medical School. Marcus was born in California, grew up in Mexico, studied in Germany during college, and lived in China for 9 years after college. During his time in China, Marcus learned Mandarin, worked as an adjunct professor at Fudan University, and was the first foreigner to complete a masters degree in psychology at Peking University. Marcus has experience providing CBT and DBT in English, Spanish and Mandarin to individuals, couples and groups of adults and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings. He has also published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and made more than 40 presentations at international conferences. Marcus’ research interest is in Global Mental Health and the optimization of treatment engagement in self-guided mobile interventions.
