Fangyu “Hope” Qi, LCSW, is a DBT-LBC Certified Clinician by the Linehan Institute. Hope was trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy during her graduate study at Columbia University under Dr. André Ivanoff.

She is the Assistant Clinical Director of a private practice which serves the greater Washington D.C. area. She has experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults from different cultural backgrounds in the following settings; outpatient psychiatrist hospital, intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, and private practice. She utilizes DBT and DBT-PE to treat clients struggling with BPD, PTSD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions, such as family conflicts caused by parental relationship, and cultural differences.

Having experienced growing up and studying in both China and the US, Hope has developed a unique understanding in how cultural differences and family of origin issues impact clients’ growth. She is able to provide treatment in both English and Mandarin. Hope is committed to disseminating DBT treatment to people in need.
