Linda Dimeff, PhD

Linda Dimeff, Ph.D., is Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for Behavioral Tech Research, Inc., an organization devoted to the dissemination of empirically supported therapies (EST). She also holds an appointment as clinical faculty in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. Dr. Dimeff received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Washington, where she specialized in prevention and treatment of addictive behaviors under the mentoring of G. Alan Marlatt, Ph.D., and in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with Marsha M. Linehan, Ph.D. Her work at BTECH Research has focused on leveraging technology to facilitate the widespread implementation of ESTs through development of educational software and tools for clinicians and clients. Recent areas of interest involve the use of electronic performance support systems (EPSS), including the application of computer-assisted therapy programs, to facilitate the doing of (vs. the learning of) evidence based therapies by clinicians, as well as the use of mobile phone technology to facilitate skills generalization in severely disordered substance dependent individuals with borderline personality disorder. Dr. Dimeff and her research team are also currently researching whether e-Learning outcomes are significantly improved when combined with a learning community facilitated by the use of Twitter.
