Sindhu Shivaji, PsyD, is a DBT provider at the Triangle Area Psychology (TAP) Clinic in Durham, North Carolina. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Baylor University, and completed fellowships at the Houston VA Medical Center and the TAP Clinic. Throughout her training, Dr. Shivaji has specialized in the conceptualization and care of race-based stress and identity-related trauma. At TAP, she provides individual-, couples-, and group-level DBT care and is an active member of TAP’s DBT Team. Dr. Shivaji is currently collaborating with colleagues at TAP to develop protocols for managing shame as a Stage 2/Stage 3 intervention. Dr. Shivaji strongly values community and social justice-oriented efforts, and strives to contribute significant portions of her time and resources to supervision, trainings, and clinical work that will result in greater reach of DBT to underserved populations.
