Hélène Poitras, OT is an occupational therapist and psychotherapist. She has been a clinician for more than 30 years at the outpatient psychiatric clinic at the CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l’Ile-de-Montréal. Her main focus is on clients with borderline personality disorder. She has been practicing DBT since 2005 and has completed numerous DBT trainings since 2007. The development of her DBT expertise has been refined with Marsha M. Linehan, founder of this therapy, and other DBT expert trainers in the United States. She is Trainer for Behavioral Tech. Ms. Poitras regularly offers lectures, conferences, and trainings in DBT. She is a consultant and supervisor for many teams, therapists and students in Quebec. Moreover, she participated as a member-expert and trainer in research projects on DBT in Quebec. Ms. Poitras founded TCD Québec to support the development of DBT, particularly in the French-speaking world, by offering training, consultation, and mentoring to teams and therapists.
