Nothing worked until adherent DBT…

“My granddaughter had eight psychiatrists and therapists from the age of seven until high school. Nothing worked until adherent DBT. She would not have been able to finish high school, in my opinion, without DBT.”

Sandra Cook, Family Member of DBT Client

High fidelity to the DBT model…

“Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Herrick Campus launched a new DBT program in early October 2015 at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care. We offer intensive DBT to people who need more support than typical outpatient settings provide. Ongoing consultation and training with Behavioral Tech Institute has fostered excellent clinical care and high fidelity to the DBT model.”

Rima Dolgoff-Kaspar, Clinician, Agency Training

Information and training very helpful…

“We were able to bring an expert to our agency to train our staff in suicide risk assessment and management. Our staff members found the information and training very helpful.”

Seiko Yamashita, Participant, Suicide Risk Assessment Management Workshop

Life saving guide…

“DBT…has been a life saving guide. The information alone is worth it’s weight in gold, but add the phone coaching, the worksheets, the group and it’s members, and all the smaller things that create the whole program- it’s immeasurable. DBT has taught me ways to navigate the storms of distressful times, emotional overload, when relationships help or heal, and how to find that quiet spot that gives me a second to breathe called Wise Mind. I am by no means over my struggles, but I have the road map to my mental health now, and if I can keep using my roadmap, eventually I will know all the side streets and alleys. DBT is a lifesaving work.“

Gericho Fernandez, DBT Client

Life and career changing…

“The experience was life and career changing for me. [The] instruction, the demonstrations, and the daily mindfulness all came together to not only give me a new and fresh perspective on this treatment – but a new look at myself and my future path.”

Jordan Moore, Participant, Foundational Training

Extremely skilled and genuine…

“The trainers were amazing – extremely skilled and genuine. Their self disclosures were funny and touching. And they didn’t just answer our questions, they continually checked in to see how we were holding up”

Vicki Weidman, Participant, Team-Building Intensive Program

Makes life much more enjoyable…

“I was an Occupational Therapist Dep[ar]t[ment] head at a State Psychiatric Facility when I experienced severe mental illness symptoms that eventually lead to my retirement from a career I loved. I eventually was referred to an excellent intensive out patient DBT program in the late’90’s and it saved my life and makes life much more enjoyable.“

Cyndi Beres, DBT Client

DBT unites us…

“DBT has transformed my unit and myself including my career and my personal life. With DBT, our adolescents have significantly improved outcomes compared to TAU (we published 4 peer reviewed articles on this). As a multidisciplinary team, DBT unites us and gives us a common language and set of tools to care for our patients. I believe in “doing DBT on all levels” so I use my skills and wholeheartedly believe skills save lives!”

Alison Tebbett-Mock, PhD

Fundamentally a compassionate treatment…

“DBT has all of the elements I love in effective treatment. Perhaps first and foremost, DBT is based on science and evidence. DBT also emphasizes emotions and emotion regulation, which is crucial in working with anyone (after all, most people probably go to therapy because of emotions in some way) and particularly essential with people who have complex mental health challenges. DBT also is fundamentally a compassionate treatment. Additionally, DBT is practical, compassionate, and full of straightforward common sense.”

Alexander Chapman, PhD, R.Psych

Wish all my classes were like this…

Doing an online training now and wishing all my classes were like this!”

Sara Russell, Participant, Online Training

Exceeded my expectations…

“The content and presentation far exceeded my expectations.”

Joe Silvia, Clinician, Foundational Training

Hands down the best therapy on the market…

“I believe without question DBT is hands down the best therapy on the market for most all needs from marriages to Individuals with most mental health diagnoses.”

Ted Campbell, LPC

I will be doing DBT until I retire…

“In the 3 decades I have been practicing, DBT has [been] the most effective treatment in helping my clients achieve the goals they want. I have heard amazing testimonies from clients about how they had lost all hope, and that suicide was the only option, until they learned DBT. Now they have a life without being plagued by suicidal and self-harm thoughts and behaviors along with a new ability to manage strong emotions and urges, function in relationships, keep a job and have a community. I will be doing DBT until I retire, no question.”

Donna Pattie, MSW, LICSW

Changed my life…

“Before I was a clinician I was a client that stepped down from inpatient hospitalization to an intensive outpatient treatment program for 6 months where they taught us DBT skills. It changed my life.”
